PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphos, 285-246 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 14.21 g, 1 h), Sidon, RY 30 = 256/5. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck. Rev. ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, ΣΙ above ΔΙ; to right, Λ. CPE 521. SNG Copenhagen 512. Svoronos 733. A beautifully toned piece. The reverse struck slightly off center and with two test cuts, otherwise, very fine.
